關於本活動
The RECONMATIC partners are thrilled to extend a warm invitation to you for our upcoming event organized by RECONMATIC UK partners, including the University of Salford, Morgan Sindall, BIMBox, and the University of Manchester, as part of the Horizon Europe project. Join us in capturing the best practices in the field of waste management, where industry leaders from these esteemed institutions will share valuable insights. This gathering aims to foster engagement on circular economy principles within the construction sector, bringing together diverse groups including industry professionals, researchers, and students.
There are four parallel workshops, and you are free to join anyone of your choice. The workshops are briefly described below:
Workshop 1: Digital twins (Yong Wang and Muhammad Omer, University of Manchester).
Join us for an engaging workshop designed to pioneer the future of environmental sustainability in construction waste management via digital twins. We are introducing an innovative digital twin initiative, which integrates cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), and CAD to convert paper-based drawings of End of Service Life Buildings (EoSL) to a digital twin to carry out the waste audit. The workshop offers a hand-off experience of our AR app and walks through the end-to-end process on real-world building. Attendees will gain valuable insights into different technologies, explore, and tackle various challenges in the process. Join us to shape the future of digital waste management.
Workshop 2: Digital Information Management System for construction and demolition waste management (Ali Saad and Jason Underwood, University of Salford).
Participants will explore the integration of cutting-edge technologies like Building Information Modeling (BIM), Internet of Things (IoT), and Blockchain (BC). The workshop offers hands-on experiences in utilizing BIM for precise planning, leveraging IoT for real-time materials/products/waste monitoring, and employing Blockchain for traceability and transparency. Attendees will gain invaluable insights at the crossroads of digital technologies and waste management, fostering innovation and sustainability in the construction industry. It's a forward-thinking exploration of the digital frontier, shaping the future of waste management.
Workshop 3: Waste datasets (Olumide Fasanmi, University of Salford, and Vitalij Terterov, BIMBox, Ltd.)
We will examine the process maps to pinpoint information exchanges that occur throughout the asset's lifecycle. We aim to engage all participants in a collaborative effort to propose ideas on the essential information that needs to be captured to minimize Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste. Although our discussion will encompass the asset's entire lifecycle, we will place a special emphasis on the pre-demolition audit stage. This focused approach aims to identify and address inefficiencies early on, fostering a more sustainable and waste-reducing workflow in construction projects.
Workshop 4: E-Waste (Owen Ashton, Morgan Sindal)
This workshop will discuss a proposed framework to identify and structure suitable data needed to create a framework and platform for a cloud-based dataset allowing ease of use and simple workflows through the use of API links into existing design authoring applications, (e.g. Revit) to ensure the process is efficient and provides no or limited overhead to existing processes.
