Visit of TECNALIA to the RECSO facilities

On November 3, a work team from TECNALIA visited the RECSO facilities. The purpose of this was to gather information for the RECONMATIC project, for automated off-site Construction & Demolition Waste (CWM) management and treatment and new materials derived from CDW.

The purpose of the visit was to know the facilities and working procedures in RECSO to study the design and development of a robot that allows the separation of fractions of specific materials present in the RCDs. During the day we discussed the problems that arise in CDW classifying processes such as purification requirements or possible hazardous waste that may appear (asbestos, for example). The team analysed the reception of CDW to the plant, the outcomes and the support and improvements that the robot can provide to the waste segregation process to allow the circularity of these materials.
