RECONMATIC in the Deconstruction Forum 2023, Madrid


On September 27th, 2023 two of RECONMATIC partners in Tecnalia, Alfonso Arevalillo and Inés Díez, attended the Deconstruction forum 2023. The event took place in at the headquarters of CEDEX (Centro de Estudios y Experimentación de Obras Públicas) in Madrid.

This distinguished forum spotlighted the circular economy as its central theme. Topics such as valorisation of construction and demolition waste (CDW), the European Union's taxonomy, characterization and management strategies for construction and demolition waste, as well as the end of life of industrial buildings, were exhaustively explored by the attending professionals of the sector. A notable presentation on the latter was made by Lezama Demoliciones, who are contributing to the research of Tecnalia for RECONMATIC project.

In a significant achievement, Lezama Demoliciones clinched the Valorizacion y Reciclaje 2023 award for their sustainable dismantling method using BIM4DW. This innovative approach was developed in collaboration with experts from TECNALIA Research & Innovation and Ihobe, the Public Society for Environmental Management of the Basque Government.
