Project of the Year Award : SEE Building

Delivered by Morgan Sindall for The University of Salford, the SEE Building won the coveted Project of the Year award, at the Constructing Excellence North West Construction Awards, held on 6th July 2023. This building and the award are a testament of what the partners of the RECONMATIC project can accomplish when working closely together. Salford University were also named Client of the Year for the same project.


The Science, Engineering & Environmental (SEE) Building brings together an entire faculty in one space and forms a vital part of the Salford Crescent and University District masterplan. It exemplifies the University of Salford's (UoS) commitment to industry collaboration, both in its operation and its design and delivery. Constructing Excellence judges agreed that the The SEE Building has been a resounding success with innovative and collaborative practices were demonstrated from design to post-handover.

  • The SEE Building's innovative low carbon steel frame solution resulting in 504t carbon saved and a fully electric building reflecting the university’s sustainability objectives

  • BIM level 2 facilitating efficient and collaborative design development and a digital thread for FM
