MSSM Conference, London: The 1st official presentation of the RECONMATIC project

RECONMATIC was presented last July at the 8th International Conference on Material Science & Smart Materials (MSSM 2022). The conference was held on July 11 to 13, 2022 at Brunel University London, where both researchers and practitioners from around the world presented their latest scientific results and applications in the fields of Materials Characterisation, Design, Development, Manufacturing and Application.

Dr Ferriz-Papi from the University of Salford (USAL) brought an overview of the RECONMATIC project, highlighting current challenges in the construction industry regarding waste and circular economy, together with the vision and expected outcomes and impacts from the application of digital and automated solutions. Additionally, Dr Nezerka from the Czech Technical University in Prague (CVUT) presented a project about computer vision-based algorithms for the recognition of construction waste materials. CVUT is coordinating the project and is going to further develop and apply this technology in the RECONMATIC project.

This was the first time RECONMATIC was thoroughly presented to the public. The audience was highly interested and the project was further discussed with many participants. You may find the whole project presentation here.

The conference was organized by Brunel London University in partnership with Transforming Foundation Industries Network+, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in Greater London Region, and the Industry Sustainable Energy and Environment Protection.
