DECOMPOSE

“Development of effective tools for minimising the generation of CDW, its monitoring & reuse”

The main objective of the project is to develop expert documents for legislative amendments leading to the minimisation and re-use of construction and demolition waste, in combination with secondary raw materials. The feasibility of decomposition of buildings, recycling of CDW is analysed, described, and evaluated in detail. In order to develop methodological guidelines, including the calculation of the ecological footprint and economic performance. For this, it is necessary to expand the knowledge base regarding the treatment of CDW, both at the beginning of the cycle (demolition, decomposition) and the recycling process itself, as well as the back-integration into building systems and materials.
